Samsung is continuing with its streak of rolling out the latest security patch to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The latest smartphone from the company to get the April 2021 security patch is the Galaxy A42 5G. The company has started the rollout of the new update today in Asia, Europe, and the UK.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A42 5G, which has firmware version A426BXXS1BUD3, is now available in Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK. The update fixes various critical vulnerabilities related to the device’s security and privacy. It includes over 30 fixes from Google and 21 fixes from Samsung.
If you are a Galaxy A42 5G user in any of the countries mentioned above, you might have received a notification regarding the update. If you haven’t, you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download the entire firmware from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy A42 5G was launched in November 2020 with Android 10 on board. The smartphone then received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update two months ago with the March 2021 security patch.
